Killed a banded suzzie that was banded somewhere in Saskatchewan (sp?) early in the season, and am awaiting the info on a greenhead with an Avise band killed late in the season. Had to send the Avise band in because some numbers were worn completely off.

have three certificates al from same Bander?? I'm sure that the ring leader of a banding group is getting the credit but I thought that was neat. one banded in 95, 97, 01 all by the same dude and around Saskatoon, SK. Killed around Cleveland.
Sound familiar?

Killed a suzie on 1-8-04 banded in Lipsville, Pennsylvania in july of 2001. Reckon she decided to come down this flyway for a change of scenery.

Killed a greenhead on 1-17-04 banded in Ontario on 8-17-03. Said on the certificate that he was "banded before able to fly". Never heard that one before.

Mallard drake banded near Whitewater, MB on 7/8/01. Recovered 12/27/03.

Drake woodie banded near Ware, IL on 8/5/03, hatched in 03. Recovered 1/17/04

It IS interesting to compare notes.......'Redhead', where in MB was your bird banded?

Killed a drake woodie 12/30/03. It was banded August 2003 when it was too young to fly near Fairfield, Kentucky. I guess I am good at killing the babies that don't know any better. It was missing half of its foot on the leg that was banded. I guess a turtle saw the shine of the band and decided to see what it tasted like.

Hey Caller1, out of the dozen bands I've killed in my career, 4 were by the same guy.

I had the opportunity to get my first band yesterday. As I went to a local fish house to do some work on some commercial snapper, when I got out of the truck, there beside me was a dead and quickly decomposing brown pelican. As I looked closer, I noticed that there was a band on it's leg. Was tempted to snatch it off, call it in, and put it on my call lanyard. Didn't think that would have been too fair for my first band though. haha
