Wife's Birthday present (pic)

Postby Anatidae » Sun Jun 10, 2007 7:58 pm

How many guys could buy their wife a new boat motor for their birthday...........and they'd be thrilled beyond words?

Well.......This is it :D .........Sssssshhhhhhh......it's a secret. Her birthday isn't 'til July 5th..........(well, 11:59, July 4th - plus one minute)

It oughta be just right for her........for those times when I'll be working and can't go with her. Yeah, it's a pull start........she didn't want a whole lot of extra weight in the boat......(starter motor and battery).......so she can pull it over the levee and get into the sloughs. You GO, GIRL!!

Yeah, I hate it when that happens.......buy her something she never uses.
But do we get credit for 'trying'?.........NO!!! Sometimes they can be so unappreciative, huh?

Fortunatley, Mine has used everything I bought her.......except the digital camera. That's been a sore subject, 'cause I REALLY use the heck out of it........maybe she's due a 'replacement gift' for the camera deal. That just hasn't been a real pleasant reminder of that occasion. Taking wonder snap-shots of her dog doesn't make-up for it, either.

Yeah, Fred......I hear ya........(over my left shoulder)......"Stop!, FOOL!......you're digging a DEEP hole. Have you forgotten she looks at this board from time-to-time?"

Oh, yeah........."Hi, Babe........we'll take YOUR NEW MOTOR out, this weekend, I promise!"

She thoroughly researches everything and does not WANT a 4-stroke. If the 'WOMAN' does NOT want a 4-stroke - the MAN would be an idiot to buy her one.

That's kinda like........"well I was gonna get you what you wanted, but I thought you would like this better" ............. NOT!!
We all recognize the key phrase in there, right?.........I thought...... Man's not spose to 'think'.......he's spose to do what the Woman WANTS.

Lemme ask you this, Jeff.......if Shelly wanted a 4 karat diamond ring.......would you go buy a Valentines' Day promo .2 karat pendant necklace with saffire and ruby accents from Zales? Or worse yet......a 3.5 karat ring? (BTW.....I'd like to catch Mr. Zales and the President of Hallmark Co. in a dark alley - makes my butt draw-up whenever one of their commercials comes-on around Valentine's Day and stuff.)

Oh.......and the 'environment' isn't going to be the one that has to lug that motor into the nearest 'qualified' service tech, to perform routine regularly scheduled service and maintenance every 50 hours. That would be Anne's responsibility.....she'd rather be out terrorizing the ducks.
