I need some help from you farmers out there. Does clover go dormant? The reason I ask is because I hunt inside the levee and of course the river comes up. This past deer season the river came up and covered the clover but it came back like a champ. Is that because it was "dormant"? If it gets on it during may/june will it kill it?

yes and no.
some varieties of clover go dormant during the winter months and some varieties of clover tolerate moist/wet soil better than others.
clovers w/ wet feet
Alsike clover
Ladino clover
White clover
Also, Bridsfoot Trefoil works well in wetter areas.
i planted ladino clover last fall along a creek which periodically floods (but drains water fairly quickly). multiple times this spring, water briefly covered a portion of the plot, but it has held up well (just doesn't look as good as the clover on slightly higher ground).
