There is a good gunsmith in West Point, but I don't remember his name. My model 12 locked up and he fixed it for me. Give Steve Barnett's Gun Shop a call, they'll give you his number.

Try Gary's Pawn and Gun in West Point or Columbus. I don't know if they have a gunsmith there, but I'm sure they will know of one in the area. Steve Barnett should also know of one, though.

Hey Judge...

I have an Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight, in 12 ga, 30" vent rib with full chock. I got it for my 12th birthday in 1972. Is it worth anything other than sentimental value (birthday gift from my parents and my first 12 ga)?

Brownlee's Gun Repair in Columbus. Actually out in the New Hope area. Probably the best gunsmith around. Does really well on old guns.

Man, my dad gave away a 20 guage Ithaca Featherweight with a 30" full choke barrel(duck gun) to my brother in law, and next thing ya know, its gone. Made me friggin sick. Those were really nice knocking around guns for a kid, light, strong, good looking. I really like those old Featherweights, with the big booty orange bead.

GC - you aren't kidding on the Itahca Model 37!! I love that gun to death but I am afraid to shoot steel in it. That gun has killed more ducks and deer that I will ever be able to count. Shooting 3" #4 lead I have killed ducks dead at 60 yds! That big ole orange/red bead was innovative back in 1972 I guess and now look...you see Tru-Glo's everywhere. I think I'll keep it but i don't know if I'll ever really hunt again. My 870 Magnum handles both my duck & deer needs on shotguns and my .308 handles my rifle needs.

That's why I asked, man I love that shotgun!!! I can shoot it better than any other gun I've ever shot. It looks like hell now, no rust, just really beat up!! I guess I'll take it to Tommy Brownlee, I've heard lots of good things about him. Thanks for the help!
