Where to buy used Ice maker?

Postby woody » Tue May 13, 2014 8:15 am

Been looking for a used ice maker. Doesn't have to be fancy or spotless ,no dings/dents. Just something that works. I will post in classified section too, just wanted to know if there was a place around Gulfport, Hattiesburg, Jackson, Yazoo City.

If you have a used restaurant supply company I would start there. Just keep in mind ice makers are NOTORIOUS for breaking.

Depending upon your needs for ice, often times a large used deep freezer off craigslist with 5 gallon and 1 gallon buckets is easier for ice chest ice. Just take bucket flip upside down in a bait champagne, run water over bucket, remove bucket 1 minute with an ice pick and you have ice chest ice. Then for drink ice use the 1 gallon buckets....

Just an idea, what we do at our camp got tiered of the ice maker breaking.

The big ones like you would see in a hotel are just like Jeff said, NOTORIOUS for breaking and constant repairs. That said, my wife's grandparents have a small one that is built into a cabinet and looks to be from the 80s and still going strong. It is about the size of a dishwasher.

check craigslist in the business for sale section. They are always selling used ice makers there.
