Postby Unlucky Duck » Fri Dec 06, 2013 6:40 am

What is the best sure fire way to get rid of mice in attic besides putting a cat in there. I know decon and other rat poison but what is the most sure fire effective method you have used. In put is appreciated.

Get the sticky traps...works good. We folded a couple and left a couple flat, cleaned out the attic in like a day or three. These will kill the mice and be ugly...dispose of traps promptly

Don't poison 'cause they will croak off in some obscure corner and then stink up the place, you may never find them in the insulation or who knows where. You'll then have to endure a "poo-ghost" as our family calls it. A poo-ghost is some odd/awful odor emanating from a seemingly random, yet unknown area.

I use whatever traps are handy, occasionally buying new gadgets to try. None seem to work THAT much better than another. I will say that many have escaped from the glue boards, leaving behind half their hair.

Get you some cotton balls and Peppermint extract. wet them and sling them around the attic. They will leave and your attic will smell great.

They say if you have a cat or dog inside, they will stay away due to being able to smell the inside pets....not because they stink, but because it's a predator...????? I have two inside and never see a mouse, or any sign of them...maybe a coincidence...
