public hunting at its BEST

Postby gator » Sat Dec 23, 2006 10:45 am

since folks get on here and complain about their public hunting experience, i thought i'd share a hunt that i'll always remember.

as most know, someone posted about hunting crossgates lake yesterday....now, this is probably the best kept secret in the metro area, and you can imagine my consternation at it being brought up on an open forum!

anyhow, this morning, i was parked in the pizza hut parking lot getting ready and i saw some lights pull in over by the tennis courts.........started walking and i could tell the boys were headed for the same rock pile that has brought in so many limits before....... but, i wasn't gonna give it up that easy......

realizing neither party was gonna give in, we decided to pool our efforts.........low and behold, the other boys out wildfowling the marsh at crossgates were non other than RJOHNSON, DUKBUM AND QUACKERS.

4 limits later, we were home.......

good meeting you hands!!!

And you should have seen Guage break and catch that goose that couldn't fly! Kind of like in that video someone posted a while back.

Quackers and Bum, you guys can call ducks w/ a Wonderbread bag like no other!!!

I grew up in Crossgates and have hunted and fished that lake all my life. It really pissees me off that all these "johnny come lately's" are overcrowding a sacred place like this. Soon, it will be like all those damned delta places that everyone talks about on this board.

I never had to deal with as much skybusting as I did this morning...and I know it is because all of you new comers on here talking about the #s of ducks roosting and being taken off of the lake.

You can bet that I will be in Carlo Martella's office tuesday morning and at the next city council meeting encouraging them to set some restrictions on our lake.

If I ever have to deal with the mess that I did this morning again...I promise that it will be a seen like we used to have at the Crossgates Village Shopping Center when I was in high school. In other words, there will be some asses getting kicked. :evil:

Well, I'll think about it, but you gotta promise ta keep the other spot secret in that area. NOBODY knows about the north endzone on Prep's field yet, and we needs at keep it that way.
