Re: Good Time!

I'd sure like to make it to one of those call nights. Josh has brought in some big name guests.

For some of us, it's a long trip there.

Re: SEC Tournament

I live in Hoover. If anyone is over and wants some pointers on food, etc. let me know. Work had me pretty busy, so I won't be at the games weekdays. Might be coaxed out for a beverage after hours though. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Re: Fly Fishing locals

Any of you tried fishing a popping bug or floating fly with a sinking line or shooting head? The length of the mono leader determines how far off the bottom your bug works. It's a fun technique for when the fish head deeper in summer.

Re: Fly Fishing locals

Matador, carp on the fly is one of the funniest times in freshwater! Those big fish in the shallows can get addicting.

Re: Fly Fishing locals

I stopped by the Bham, AL Orvis shop and met bmanning. It was a great visit. We talked rivers, favorite flies, boats. He has this big screen TV behind his fly tying desk. We pulled up google maps and planned a few local float trips when the river gets right. That shop is dangerous. He had me almost ...

Re: worst season in 33+years

Well said, Anatidae. We all should keep a grateful heart that we're able to get after them. One thing that Barq's said happened to his group hit home. They had ducks pitching in, and some nearby hunters shot just to spook the ducks. This has happened to me several times the last couple years. That b...

Re: going OCD on your scent

You'll never eliminate scent. But sometimes minimizing is enough to get them in range. They bust us based on bacteria, skin oils, skin cells, and breath. A good cent free soap, shampoo, and deodorant should take care of the first two. Use a loofah sponge to shower off as much dead skin as you can. B...
