Re: Anyone use a big green egg?

If you really want to make a BGE cook like an oven and money isn't an issue, buy a BBQ Guru temp control unit to go with it. I have a large upright smoker that came with a port for a BBQ Guru. Do you have one for your egg? I really think it would be a nice addition if it works as advertised. Do the...

Re: Don't manipulate your grain

It never fails when someone gets tagged that different stories come out of how it went down. Some paint the officer with a bad brush and some the opposite. One thing for certain here, had the guy wanted to fight the charges he was free to do so. If his rights were violated, there is a court to chall...

Re: Blood Tracking Breeds

Those are really cool little dogs. The fella that wrote the book on blood trailing, John Jeanneney, uses them with great success. My concern with small dogs is their ability to hold a slightly wounded by very much alive buck at bay. Also, I question their ability to travel long distances the way a l...

Re: Blood Tracking Breeds

Having been around less than a half dozen of them, I am no expert on Lacy dogs by any stretch of the imagination. However, the breed having issues with kids seems to be common from what I have experienced and what I have read from other owners. Breeders on the other hand, will tell you they are grea...

Re: Blood Tracking Breeds

I'm no expert, but I hear a texas blue lacy is a top notch blood trailing dog. Like most dogs, they can be taught. I had one and ended up giving it back to the breeder because I couldn't break the dog from trying to nip my daughter in the face. It was either give it away or kill it. Lacy dogs are v...

Re: Anyone use a big green egg?

There are more grills than people at my house (BGE, Lang84, 2 Webbers, a few homemade rigs, etc.). For years I was very skeptical of the "best cooker I ever used" claims made by BGE owners. My skepticism and the roughly $1k price tag for a large kept me from getting one until a couple year...

Re: Shooting house plans critique

If it is going to be where it gets that amount of water, I would consider building a treehouse with a disposable ladder up to it or maybe some sort of debris break in front of it that will work like a cattle catcher on the front of a train. Debris in 5 feet of water will push a box stand over. At a ...

3rd the Graverly. Got the HD60 about 6 years back from Ace Hardware. I take it to them yearly for an oil change, service, and blades sharpened. No problems and it cranks every single time I bump the starter.

Re: Changing from iphone to Android

Never used an apple but android has everything I could want. Many developers are making apps for both platforms so there are fewer and fewer platform specific apps these days. With android it is nice to be able to treat the phone as a big SD card. Plug it in to your computer and move whatever you wa...
