Re: Duck blinds - if building one, you would want . . .

Lots of little rubber hooks in the blind to hang bird strap, bags, etc. I keep a bundle of big plastic zippie ties so that you can brush up the blind during the season if big rains knock stuff off. I always put a box of garbage bags in the blind. Somehow there always seems to be lots of empty cans i...

Re: Obama "The Awakening"

I actually know Gary pretty well. I have fished with him many times over the years. He writes into the Aspen Times on a regular basis. He is an outstanding hunting and fishing guide out there. He was raised in Carbondale(25 miles from Aspen), and that is where his ranch is. He is very intelligent, s...

If it's a group of kids and you don't want to spend a bunch of money take them to the Rainforrest Cafe. It's on the Riverwalk.

Re: Thermacell Refills (do it yourself)

They work best after they have been lit for about 10 minutes. If it was lit, for more than five minutes, you did not have mosquitoes landing it. Not possible. All hail the Thermocell.

Re: 6 & 60

towards the end of the point system i thought i remember hens being 100 points? Legally, you could kill 3 greenheads and then a hen. You could have killed 9 gaddies and then a hen. You used your biggest point duck to put you over. I remember sitting there arranging the limits for an hour. If you did...

Re: Lake Falcon

Lake Fork isn't a bad drive. I have pulled my boat over there a couple of times. It's this side of Dallas, and not that hard to fish. I have caught nice fish both times I have been. You have to get to the boat ramp an hour before daylight to get in line, but it's fun fishing.

Re: What's With

I added earthquake Insurance to my homeowners policy last Friday. It added $69/year to my policy. It seems like they're happening all over the world now. It might be worth checking your policies to make sure it's on there.

Re: looking for boat carpet installer

There was a guy on West Capitol Street or Lynch street that has a sign out front that says auto/boat upholstering. I can't remember the name of the business, but if you cut through from downtown to hwy 80(whatever the road that goes by JSU) you will see it. I'm sure he only accepts cash! Sorry for t...
