Re: Question for those who remain
I quit posting as much during the downhill period, before the site went down, because of the "sophomore" bunch (at the time) and their smartass comments: If anyone posted anything over 2 sentences long (or twitter length), then they would contribute NOT to the conversation, but with a snid...

Re: Cold weather deer sightings.
Regardless of temps, I see deer moving at around 9 am and especially 11 am. I'll still hunt all day if I can. The week before the cold came, I didn't see any of the 9 bucks and countless does until 10 am. Missed a booner last week that was chasing a doe in the blazing heat at 9 am. Killed a nice one...

Re: Seed ID in mallard craw
I could talk to you for days about the truths in that post. I find that wildlife law enforcement is like mowing grass when it rains every week. Just when you think you have it all cleaned up, more grass is growing where you just came from. Sometimes it's old grass regrowth, sometimes its brand new ...

Re: Seed ID in mallard craw
Could it be that by for some crazy reason, someone has a legit food plot in that neck of the woods? I know most hunters are evil people who do everything from not having a plug in their gun to the downright heinous felon that doesn't wear his orange in the stand, but come on? I would like to think ...

Seed ID in mallard craw
Since the last rains we've been able to hunt one of our late morning holes. Every duck we've been killing has had his craw full of this seed. What is it? At 1st I thought it was some kinda wheat or oat, but it looks too small. I have no clue. http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j392/greenhedgrimreap...

Re: Blaze orange legality question
That's funny, I've hunted the snot out of mine and never lost a button. Wonder if they changed manufacturers? Nah. My luck, I bought the one that the rookie Chinaman made on the last hour of his first big check Friday. I absolutely love the Redhead Elite Stalker Parka though. It's the warmest jacke...

Re: Public Hunting
We wore em out on Yazoo Refuge.
Afterwards we caught a yeti cooler full of channel cats and buffalo. If ya don't mind the wang taste they have to em, then it's a great place for a cast and blast!

Re: No ducks??? Who cares there are snipe to shoot
Snipe opened on the 14th, you let meat get off the table! While snipe and woodcock look similar, they act totally different, and the woodcock is bigger. They're habitat does overlap in places, however woodcock are just as likely to be found in a moist, low sweetgum thicket as they are anywhere. If t...

Re: Flaring Ducks or how much do i hate balloons
In the spirit of tornadic storms, I once found several hundred mallards in a hole in some public land in east central ms. My brother in law and I and my dog went back and hunted them the next morning with a camera. We commenced to riding out a freak tornado event in a willow thicket so tight that it...
