Jacksbuddy, when we hunt pet birds we love using our duck dogs--hook up with someone witha bird dog or see if a pay hunt will let you bring him.. wild birds i don't usually take him as I 'm so focused on the birds getting up,,,but on the tame birds --they work great..in fact i prefer it as i hate ki...

I agree with above, train with the fake hunt, slowly adding new things, primers, gun from a distance, larger bore,then moving closer,bumpers ,then add a few decoys,more decoys, then ducks (freeze several before the season is out),I would make control a must even if you stopped the training period fo...
