Re: Stocking pond with catfish
If you absolutely want to catch catfish, then stock catfish into your bass/bluegill pond if a dedicated catfish pond is not an option. Opt for the 8"-10" CCF. As Pondman stated, they're not that much more expensive, and their survival rate and "transportability" will be much bet...

Re: Stocking pond with catfish
Scott,
I recommend Texas Hunter. I used to be a big Sweeney guy, but thier quality has really declined in the last few years. I do not sell them, but you can get on-line and order whatever you need. Easy to assemble.

Re: Thoughts on High Fence Hunting
I've deer hunted in a high fence one time. I saw more deer on the unfenced property than I hunt in Madison County than did inside the fence. This is a 1,200 acre property in Hinds County. The reason this property is fenced is because of neighbors. They would not keep dogs off the place nor would th...

Re: Stocking pond with catfish
Pond, what about his question about stocking channel catfish for kids to catch? If he stocks fingerlings, will most of them get eaten by the bass before growing to eating size? My bad. Missed one. If you stock 4-6" CCF some will get predated. Most will not. I usually recommend a 8-10" inc...

Re: Stocking pond with catfish
Let me take a shot at this stocking catfish thing: -- Do not stock flatheads in a pond. They are ferocious predators and will clean the pond out. -- FHC will successfully reproduce in a pond. The fry have a hard time surviving due to to LMB predation, but some will make it. -- FHC do not need runnin...

Re: Cam to FSU
I love the hypocrisy. I talked to a "very involved" OM booster about 15 minutes before Cam was signed. He told me that Cam would be signing with OM because "it was a done deal and taken care of".

I hope you are right. My plan is to be northeast of Stuttgart when the season reopens Thursday and hunt until Sunday.

LSU fans...
I can't believe no one has started a thread on this yet. LSU fans what are your thoughts on the Les getting shown the door? Coach O taking over for the rest of the season? Who will be hired?

Re: Need some camp rules
I agree with the above thoughts. Simple, dictatorship, and each membership is renewable year to year. Some thoughts: Each family gets a number of deer -- all kids and guest got to that total. Have some weekends of no guests -- maybe rut for deer and opening /closing weekend for ducks. Kids are consi...

Re: Need some camp rules
Are you looking for harvest recs, guest rules, allowable times to hunt? What are the goals of the camp? Trophy, quality, quantity? How many acres? How many members?
