Re: Afternoon Turkey Kill

Awesome! Well done. Sounds like your patience paid off. Those tough birds that make you work for it are always a little bit sweeter when you finally get the opportunity to harvet them.

Got a Double

I took a first timer on Saturday, actually we hunted once before last season. We got on a bird early but, had a creek between us and he never really gave us the time of day. We then looped around him and called them over a crown in some hardwoods about 45 mins later. They came in pretty as you pleas...

Re: first

Nice bird, even if is of the spurless variety.

I have also heard it is genetics. Supposedly if you find one, you will also find more in his lineage with the same issue.

Re: Building a house... Builder vs sub it urself

You will also have to find a bank willing to do an owner built construction loan. That might be tougher than you think. Most banks are shying away from such given the tighter lending laws etc. I am a loan officer and I tend to suggest folks go the contractor route. You might save a little money on a...

Re: Winchester xtended 3" #6's???????

I am sold on the Magnum Blend 3.5"s. I killed a turkey at 50yds dead as a hammer last week. That blended shot is lethal out to that range and that is as far as I plan on shooting one.

They're Hot!!

Well, I have been blessed with two in two days. I believe that they are pretty fired up. I hope the coming cold snap does not mess all that up. We sure are having an early Spring this year. http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac199/Cypress_Sniper/2015-03-25%2014.26.39.jpg 3/25/15 10 1/2" beard 1...

Re: Favorite Hen Decoy

Why would you hesitate carrying it in your vest? Is it a pain to inflate and deflate?

The last thing I want is another something on my shoulder. Rolling through the turkey woods like a Sherpa headed up Everest does not interest me.

Favorite Hen Decoy

If you use one, what do you like? (I don't want to hear your soapbox rants of why you don't) - Make - Pose, i.e. Breeder, Feeder, Lookout, Adjustable? I keep one the back of my vest and on occasion use it if the situation presents itself. The one I have is the old foam version and the face paint is...
