Re: Yazoo Backwater Pump back in the news

Tim it is. The pumps would have dropped the water level 5.5’. The majority of the homes flooded would have been saved. EPA and extreme liberal environmentalist and some crooked republicans are to blame. It’s sad to see a few Rhinos who called the pump a waste of taxpayers $ but they turn right arou...

Re: Yazoo Backwater Pump back in the news

heard a news quote that they would reduce the water level 5ft from current level...that's a lot of affected people out from under the possibility of flooding every time it happens. Is it, though? Sure it’s a lot of acres, but people? Residences? WRP land? This is my hang up, and I could admittedly ...

For intimidation factor, trifoliate orange is a notch or 2 ahead. And devil’s walking stick looks like a weapon from an episode of Vikings.

Medical usage isn’t already legal and studied?

Yes, it helps. I have met folks that wouldn’t care to live without it.

Re: I’m curious what the interest level is

I think it needs to be decriminalized at the federal level because currently a user of either medical or recreational marijuana is considered a prohibited person from possessing a firearm. That is unless you are willing to perjure yourself on a form 4473 which I am not. I’d argue that that’s a viol...

Re: Plant id

That example seems to show clusters of flowers, rather than a single white flower. I’ve seen them in many spots between Vburg and Baton Rouge.

The first ones I noticed were blooming during deer season.

Re: Yazoo Backwater Pump back in the news

Well, fair question. First, my concern and prayers are with those impacted. I lived in BR in 2016, so don’t think I haven’t seen a flood up close and personal. If this becomes the new norm, I’ll concede. This is excessive. But, as rare as this year’s levels are, I still question the benefit. When I ...

Re: Milwaukee Tool - Greenwood, MS

I found an M12 Fuel set with drill, impact etc on the clearance rack at HD. That thing is awesome.

But if I buy a battery operated blower, trimmer, etc., I’m afraid they’ll ask for my man card as payment.

Re: Off Season - First Repair - Spotlight

It’d be one heck of a gamble to say you want to turn back time and see where the USA would be without a MS River primed for industry and commerce over the last century or so. There’s a chance that scenario has us speaking German today.

Re: Wetland or upland in MS Delta

Great post by novacaine. Figuring out if it's a wetland or not is the easy part. Dealing with the county could be the frustrating part. You can request a jurisdictional determination (jd) with the Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg for your campsite. An area that small will not take long at all for a ...
