UPDATE: Well, he had surgery yesterday and they kept him overnight. Talked to them this morning and they said he is up and moving around pretty decent. The wife is headed over now to get him. In a couple of weeks he'll start the chemo treatments. Despite all of this mess, I guess everything happens ...

UPDATE: Well, we did schedule the surgery back in Jan as previously posted but posponed it to have more tests ran to make absolutely sure it was cancer that required amputation... Long story short; Deuce is at the Vet office tonight and having the amputation procedure in the morning... I'm so frigge...

If anyone likes coonhounds or coon hunting, Batesville is hosting the 2013 UKC Winter Classic Coonhunt and Bench Show this Thurs thru Sat. It had been held in Albany, Ga. for 25 years but has been moved to Mississippi this year... It's one of the south's biggest 3 hunts and has over 885 dogs entered...

UPDATE: Well, it's a cancer (soft tissue sarcoma of sorts)... The Oncology Vet said that the safest and standard protocol for this kind of issue is "amputation" followed up with 5 treatments of chemo. Duece is tough and I know he will adjust to the handicap. But, like most of ya'll, my dog...

But my best friend and hunting buddy, "Deuce" needs em' right now... He developed a limp about 3 days ago and we took him to my vet. They suspected osteosarcoma (bone cancer). They did some chest xrays and they appeared clear. We were refered to another vet for verification of the cancer....
