Re: Pistol for Deep Pocket Carry

It was an actual CC class to get certified with the state. Even though it was a CC class I would call it basic. We spent the morning talking about the difference between single and double action; automatic vs revolver, the bullet and what makes up a round, what happens when the firing pin hits the p...

Re: Pistol for Deep Pocket Carry

I've got mixed feelings on the concealed carry class. I took one with my wife and I got nothing out of it but everything was new to her and she learned a lot in the classroom portion. I also think the instructor has a large part to do with what a person gets out of the class. When it came time to ac...

Re: Bow shops

I broke down and bought a crossbow but I prefer my compound. I use the crossbow on days I just can't pull the compound. I am really not looking forward to the day I am not at all able to shoot my compound. I can say one thing about a Crossbow, they are wicked accurate. I can back up to 60 yards and ...

Re: Bow shops

I bought a press and learned how to tear my bow down, put it back together and tune it to shoot bullet holes in paper. The shop I used would eyeball it and if it looked good that was good enough. There were so many things I wanted to try and running to the shop just wasn't going to cut it. I also le...

Re: Opener?

Shot a limit Saturday morning in West Point. Hunts are getting harder and harder to find and more expensive. I remember when there were hunts in the paper and via word of mouth. Farmers would charge $20 to hunt a field after they had finished harvesting whatever.

Re: I’m baaaack!

What's up Crow and SB? If we aren't careful we might actually get a conversation started up in here. Ain't been nothing but crickets chirping lately. I've got a dove field for opening day and then I'm off to teal hunt the next weekend.

I carry a Glock 43 but it’s been modified with an aftermarket trigger, Taran tactical mags, and an XS Big Dot Sight. It’s loaded with Winchester Ranger +p t series.

They should go ask Bower to take over. I read an article the other day where a reporter asked Bower if he would have come back when they were last looking for a coach and he said yes. Firing Bower, I know he technically resigned, was the dumbest decision they could have made. A few of the "mone...

Re: What the hell?

My wife, 4 daughters, and 1 granddaughter have all been here at the house since Spring break. My son in law is an engineer and surveyor and I've come close to asking him to let me go on surveying jobs just to get out of this estrogen pool. I've been living by the old proverb "a rolling stone ga...

Re: North MS Deer-CWD

When I was in grade school in Clinton back in the 70s I think I remember where the entire state was being sprayed for fire ants. I'd watch the crop dusters out the window at Northside School while sitting in class. Environmentalist pitched a fit even back then over the spraying. Imagine the Hell the...
