Re: need some help
SWAG is right. Get a professional to identify what you have or take good pics of the plants giving you problems. Chemical control will probably be your best option for quickness and efficiency, but you need to know exactly what plants they are to get the correct herbicides.

Re: Cold Front
Only one way to find out...I'm with Delta Cotton Boy. I'll be hunting at the Noxubee Refuge this weekend. May just shoot woodies but that's better than nothing and good work for my dog.

Re: Fertilizer ?
Application of nitrogen will give the top growth foliage a quick green-up and boost but not much long term health for the plant. The second number is phosphorus which helps promote healthy root growth. This is good for when you have a lack of rain. The last number is potassium (K) which helps the pl...

Re: New size restrictions - bucks
About the larger size restriction in the delta, I believe I read in the MS hunting regulations manual that it is because of the soil type difference. Like DanP said about the resources for the deer to become bigger quicker, the soil type goes hand in hand with that.

Re: White Oaks
I have seen some white oaks drop every year and some not. One place I hunt in some hills and hollows has a white oak tree every 5 ft and every one of them is pouring acorns this year.

Re: how to kill duck weed and alligator weed
Imazapyr, 2,4-D, and triclopyr work the best on alligatorweed. Waterflow does affect fluridone effectiveness on duckweed. How much, I'm not sure. You would have to ask someone who knows more about fluridone.

Re: how to kill duck weed and alligator weed
Duckweed is a very fine grain-like plant that grows on top of the water surface. There is common duckweed (Lemna minor) and giant duckweed (Spirodella polyrriza). Watermeal is another plant that looks very similar to duckweed but not. Ducks will eat duckweed but it shades out other plants that grow ...

Re: ? Anyone installed landscape lights?
Solar lights are easy but they suck. I've installed a few sets of outdoor lighting before but it's been awhile. I can tell you that length of wire DOES matter. The longer the distance from the transformer box to the light, the more voltage (pressure) you will need. If you run into problems with that...

Re: Lawn Question
It's not rust, but more than likely a fungus. The reason it is about as wide as a tire track and snakes around in the yard is because it spreads by someone driving through it and dispersing it with the tires (which I am assuming probably happened in your yard with a truck or lawnmower). It may be li...
