Re: Avian x blind

we hunt and use one regularly. we mudded the material, then took the fast grass mats and zip tied them on the top half of the blind (bottom 12-18' is either in water or in stubble anyway. we darkened the grass up with some spray paint. every season, we will cut some fresh Johnson grass and zip tie i...

Re: Canada outfitter

oak hammock outfitters in Manitoba. you can find them on the internet. they have a great operation and are very accommodating. I would willingly go hunt with them any day of the season.

Re: TOP 10 (lower 48)

big water's list is really good.

only thing that I would add to it, would be great salt lake area of Utah, and the marsh area of texas for reheads and pitails.

however, add Canada to your list, you won't regret it and it's very affordable.

Re: Gator tags

had tags, and I've filled them. it was an awesome night, sucks that if they go back to the draw that I may never get to go hunt that area again, unless they do a true preference system.

Re: Ask DS: attic insulation

Just to clarify, are you talking about insulation on the attic floor, or put up onto the inside of the attic ceiling, i.e. the roof? blown in, goes in between the joist or on the attic floor. spray foam goes against the decking for the roof. spray foam is literally 2-3 times the cost. spending the ...

Ask DS: attic insulation

I have to get some more insulation added to my attic, as I don't have near enough right now. I'm debating on spending the extra to get spray foam, instead of blown in. everyone always says, the spray foam is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Just trying to decide if it's worth the 2x the extra ...

Re: Crossbow help

I have an Excalibur matrix 405. it's louder than than the xbows with a cam, but it slings a 400 grain bolt at 387 fps, and it has awesome optics so I'm good with it. easy to work on myself and change strings out. also, the bolts are reasonably priced compared to some of the competitors bows and bolt...

Re: gator tags

I was lucky enough to get tags in the zone I wanted, but I don't know anyone else that got tags. I don't know what the answer is. I guess the only way to insure Is to go to a preference point deal where you buy your points each year. The only down side, I don't see how that will work with the zones,...

Re: Something a little different for deer

I grew up hunting with a Russian model SKS shooting 7.62*39 hollow points. used that set up for 10 years. if its within 125 yards, it was in trouble. I'm sure you could shoot further, but that's all I can do with the optics I had. it also would leave a super impressive blood trail.
