I killed a real good bow buck, but didn't see as many of my mature deer as I normally would. It would probably have been a 9+ had I taken off the week before christmas instead of the week after.

I wasnt aiming my response at you peewee. Rather at everyone that prefers a neck shot to a shoulder shot. I mentioned they have their place when you can't see their shoulder. I'm just shocked to see so many people that would rather go for a neck shot than a shoulder.

Why would you ever take a neck shot if you didn't have to? Just asking. Yes it may drop them in their tracks if you hit the neck bone, but it is a much smaller vital area than the shoulder/behind shoulder area.
