Hunted this morning and saw probably five hundred birds flying high in large V's... Not Canadians, but to large to be ducks... I think they are some kind of geese but not sure... Can anyone help I.D. these birds?

Im looking to hunt ducks on the border of hinds and warren county. there are two large ponds where ive seen wood ducks and canadians... and a tiny pond where ive scared away a couple mallards... what kind of decoy should i buy?

I am new to duck hunting but am interested in getting into it... I hunt in Edwards, Ms by the dividing line of Hinds and Warren County... What kind of ducks am i looking for? or What kind of decoy and call should i purchase?
