Re: Mississippi River Infrastructure
So i remember that case, and basically it was said you (Public) don't have the right to fish, but you can navigate. Well my question for the legal folks would be what if I were a guide and making money fishing, then would the commerce clause apply on interstate waters and allow me to fish as it woul...

Re: Mississippi River Infrastructure
My understanding would be if it’s inside the banks you are out of luck.[/quote] I agree, totally, I was kinda shocked when asked who a fellow needs to talk to in order to get the barges from running right there. So another question that can arise from this, you say as long as you are in the banks yo...

Re: Mississippi River Infrastructure
Maybe a bit off the topic here, but it deals with the MS River and the Infrastructure sort of. The whole Public/Private debate continues to rage on, however I heard of an interesting perspective I guess. Want to get some takes on this. Hypothetical of course. You own a large club along the river and...

Re: CWD found in MS delta.
Kinda funny how all the CWD talk has just gone away. You don't hear anything about it anymore. Of course Ground Zero is under water and all the deer are displaced, so who knows whats going on

You can download alot of data from here, but Like Dan said, you have to have some sort of program for viewing the data, I use ArcMap as well.

Re: appraisal question
here's a challenge.... get two different appraisers to appraise the same property and see if they come back with the same answer. Exactly, liek i said i have always sondered how the appraisal stuff works. In my experiences the appraiser knows the purchase price before completing his appraisal, whic...

Re: appraisal question
My Experience is No. I just boguht some land and it appraised for $X/acre..that is what it is worth (in the appraisal world) Had it been without timber it would have been less than $X/acre because it didn't have the timber. I wondered how the appraisal thing was going to work anyway because most app...

Re: CWD found in MS delta.
Well I been down with the Flu so I haven't been hearing and been bombarded with CWD articles and the like...whats happening now. Whats this high water going to do? Make it easier to dample the deer or push the possibly infected deer out of the area and towards the hills? How long does it take to tes...

Re: CWD found in MS delta.
So it was found dead on the 25th and I am guessing the reason we didn't hear anything about it is the testing time?? what would compell the guys that found a dead deer in the woods to decide to have it tested for CWD..There are alot deer that get hit by vehicles on that road IF it was infact where t...

Re: CWD found in MS delta.
I Find it a bit odd the timing and the location the deer with CWD was found... If it truly was infected with the disease ok, but My first question would be how'd that deer, I guess the only one we know of, just happen to make it to right where he did and die and then get found after hunting season a...

How to train a dog to bark
This probably belongs in a different forum, but nobody would see if over there.
I'm training my young lab (7 months) to trail blood, she is pretty good so far, she can find the deer, but she doesn't bark when she gets to it. Is there anyway to train her to bark when she gets to the deer?

Re: Yazoo Backwater Pump back in the news
If the intent was to "Drain Wetlands" all the Corps would have to do is leave the gates open during low water periods, rather than closing them in order to hold water in the backwater area, I think it is something like 70' they try to hold back. I don’t recognize this but I think I rememb...

Re: Yazoo Backwater Pump back in the news
There is a nice range above the proposed "pumps on" level that makes the duck hunting great. However when it gets rediculously high it gets bad (roads shut down Etc. ) So from a duck hunting perspective I would be against the pumps for where I hunt to get the occasional opportunities to h...
