Re: Stupidity Problem

Putting on my tin foil hat, I think a lot of things(not specifically mass shootings because I don't want to believe anyone or group could be that heinous), but a lot of events and things we see as crazy and stupid, are very calculated. In politics, yes Bernie and Warren are lunatic crazy. They float...

Re: Pearl River Flooding

Wildfowler, it is a map. It shows the number of structures that would require buyouts for the project to continue depending on expansion, and the estimated money to do so.

Re: Pearl River Flooding

So I dug a little deeper. Looks like they want to dig out part of the Pearl River and make it somewhat of a holding tank when the river gets high. I am not a hydrologist, but I don't think we can dig it deep and wide enough to accommodate the kind of flooding we have seen this past week. Levee to le...

Re: Pearl River Flooding

Wildfowler, maybe I just don’t get it, but I can’t see HOA the two lake project will do anything to mitigate a flood like this one. It’s flooded levee to levee and then some. I figure McGowan has more interest in capital control than flood control. I just don’t see it working. Isn’t it designed to l...

Re: Effing rain

I believe it has become the new normal. I do see where Bennie Thompson needs to get re-elected and has started pushing for the backwater pumps to be put in. It's looking like the south delta is about to take it on the chin again.

Re: North MS Deer-CWD

My question is this: What does killing mass numbers of deer, even post normal hunting season, accomplish? Sure, it may tell you how widespread it is. If it is wide spread, then is there a cure for it? What and where do we go from there? If its not as widespread as thought, like in the south delta wh...

North MS Deer-CWD

Ok, lets spice this place up now. Seeing as the South Delta had an outbreak of CWD and the MDWFP killed off several hundred deer in the area(pre-flood) all the while working a deal with Anderson Tulley for the new Phil Bryant WMA, one has to wonder if there is a plan in the works in North MS for ano...

Re: Anyone doing any good

If I were to rate this season, it would be a hooded merganser. We don't get the pushes we used to. I remember growing up breaking ice in ruts on a logging road in Scott County on opening weekend of deer season. I cant tell you the last time I've broken ice. We have a front blow through and it gets i...

Re: Buying ATV out of state

Vickers, There are only 2 things in life that you have to do. One is die, the other is pay taxes! I’m wondering why you wouldn’t title a purchase like that. Is it only to “attempt” to avoid taxes? I ask this because I don’t know (but I know you do)....can you insure it without a title? If so, what ...

Re: Buying ATV out of state

To yall that got popped by the state, did you try and title it? Seems that's where things get "alerted" to the MSDOR. I don't care to title it and don't have to. I have heard of the other states doing an audit and catching the ones that didn't pay sales tax and then they alert the state. A...

Buying ATV out of state

I am in the market for a new Polaris Ranger. There is a dealership in TN that is a good bit cheaper. I actually have to drive to north MS this weekend so its not that much out of the way. What makes it more even enticing than just the pure price is the sales tax. It is my understanding that if I pay...
