Re: Water level with the pump vs. without.
Uhhhhh....before the levees were constructed, and before the newer, higher levees were constructed after the original ones failed, there is no way to determine how high the water would have risen within levees like exist today. We know that one of these big floods occurred before the levees were co...

Re: Water level with the pump vs. without.
If the main line levee holds those pumps would pump out all the YBW that has farmers held up sooner. I'm sure the COE would not pump the area to such an elevation that the main line levee would have nothing but head pressure from the river. If the main line levee fails those pumps probably would not...

Re: mechanic - motor question
What color was the smoke? blue is oil, could be a broken valve spring, broken rocker arm etc that would explian the mis fire. Did the smoke stop after it ran a few min, that would just mean your valve seals leaked some oil into the cylinder no big deal. The ticking could be a lifter not primed, it s...

Re: River is fixing to get serious, boys!!!
This flood could affect lands OUTSIDE the levees, too....imagine what the delta will look like, if all of the bayous, rivers, and streams are already backed outta their banks from the River flooding, THEN, another 5-6 inches of rain falls....no where for it to go, except spread across the delta. UH...

Re: planting Sawtooth trees * pics added *
Looks great. You can just hack a ring around the existing trees.
And if you have some chemical (garlon, grazon, 24d non ester, ) squirt it in the hack mark.

Re: Question for all the yard guys
Are you guys using 2,4-d on centipede? Many sources say not to, but some of the commercial types labeled for centipede lawns( which I've had success with on my centipede) contain it. According to table 1 http://msucares.com/lawn/lawn/weeds.html it is OK to use 24D on centipede.\ 2,4-D 2,4-D + 2,4-D...
