Re: Sun. Snows & Blues - 162
The airplane thing was just more of an inside joke. While hunting there was a plane that appeared to be trying to run the geese off. A little closer and he might would have got peppered with steel.

Re: Hunting WMA's with motor restrictions
I have never seen a WMA with an outboard restriction.
I use a boat at 5 WMAs in MS and none have restrictions.

Re: Homemade MudMotor
I finished a "medium" tail before season. I built an aluminum boat so I was able to the motor lower behind the "cabin" so that I could make the tail short and still have a low angle to the water. I used a 5 hp Honda engine, I think my shaft is approx. 30 in, used SS shaft (no u-j...

Re: Torn nail?
I cut off as much nail as possible and let them go. I just let them get the ducks I can't get, it hurts them worse to swim with the water flowing over it. They can walk all day long but squeal when swimming after a duck. It gets better day by day and they are 100% in couple of weeks.

Re: Any GM mechanics here?
If it is in the transfer case I would rebuild it. That way you know most of the wear parts are new and you don't have to worry about it like a used unit. Make sure to tell them to put a new chain, bearings, and seals in it. It should be about $600 for a rebuild. You can grab the front drive shaft wi...

Re: The "Black Cloud" post got me to figuring
BTW I figured it out with the mallards average flight speed of 50 mph and 1400fps shell and came up with 11.889 ft lead. However if you follow thru with the swing of the gun it will cut it down to 9 ft. If the average velocity is 800 fps for shot and duck at 50 mph 40 yd distance only works ...
