Re: Headed to New Mexico the first week in May.......
A few tips that come to mind are they seem to like roosting in the same spots day after day if they aren't pressured a lot. Hunt all day. When they're hot they'll come to the call anytime of the day. Don't let their gobble fool you into thinking they are further off than what they actually are. To m...

Re: New Turkey South Forum Sponsor HEADCRUSHER TURKEY CALLS
is the vixen a little tougher to blow with the medium stretch or does it require minimal effort also. the viper is a little big for mouth and i'm scared to cut it as i don't wanna mess it up so i'm leery to switch to a tighter stretch. just as raspy as the viper? If you like the v cut in your viper...

If you like the v cut in your viper Scotty try the vixen with the v cut. It's sweet sounding to. My favorite. I'm really liking my Headcrusher calls.

Re: New to turkey hunting
If you're going to get some mouth calls I would strongly recommend you buy 1-2 from several different call makers. Each brand varies in one way or another. I can sound pretty good on a few brands and sound awful on others. My hunting buddies and I all like different ones. Vicksburg's advice on being...

Re: Scopes?
I'm not a fan of a magnified scope because I don't like the magnification at close ranges but......I'll never own a turkey gun without it having a red dot scope. I've seen to many hunts go wrong where the shooter gets caught up watching the bird come in putting on a show and raises his/her head up o...

Re: Rio hunt
Thanks H20 Fowl. I've looked at their website and am very interested in talking with them. My only concern is their description of the hunt seemed like they suggest sitting and waiting for the birds in blinds on travel routes instead of moving and calling. Have you been on this hunt and can give me ...
