Re: Spring/summer plots.
A bag or unit (140k seeds in the bag if RR) will plant an acre. A AG of corn roughly 2.5 acres. Corn is tight this year and will cost more if you find it. They work good mixed. I would plant in strips and leave some skips for wheat/oats and clover in fall.

Re: Ask DS - reloading equipment
Dutch, it could be just a bad load cell, or one that is very very sensitive. some of them moisture/corrosion can affect the solder joints. so that might be another place to check. its still hard to beat the old balance bean scales. i would think if you trust and have confidence in it, then keep it; ...

Re: Ask DS - reloading equipment
Dutch, is your scale level and have solid feet? i have seen some scales creep that weren't (not reloading but with seed). do you an air vent or fan close by that could be blowing on it? (i see this when wieghing superbags on a real windy day. will make the superbag of 2500# sway with 5mph+ wind.) is...

Re: No water on lease What to do?
I would talk with him and remind him of the agreement and contract. If I wanted it for next year and beyond, renegotiate the lease and make sure he understands it. I would also offer to pay for some to half of fuel costs for this year.
It's not an easy place to be.

Re: Slab or Crawlspace?
I like slabs myself. Have a godd, I mean a good, concrete man and get your concrete from a good, I mean a good, concrete place. Go thicker than you need and use a double mat of rebar, 5/8 or 3/4. Or build the slab on a floating foundation.
