Re: Anybody here training dogs?
Good luck with your pup. I started out with a couple of British dogs. I still have the first one I trained. She's now 13 and going strong. She was HRCH and MH and took readily to the Smartwork and Lardy programs. I've had experience with a few British dogs and recently trained one for a while with t...

Anybody here training dogs?
I was just wondering because there are little if any questions about training the last few years on this board. Thinking back to years ago there were a lot of us in the same boat with our first dog. We didnt know all the answers but we figured it out together at this place. I dont claim to know it a...

Re: Southern Oak Kennels
Very well bred dogs with health clearances. I have spoken to the owner by phone and found him very knowledgeable. I would not hesitate to do business with him.

Re: Ask DS: Rome, Italy
Pompeii is a preserved ancient city but is a full day trip. Another preserved ancient city is much closer. You can look up Ostia antica. Coastal port of Ancient Rome and only about a half hour away. No crowds.

Raising a Glass Tonight
To skippy J's Fordland's Whata Thrill Lucille. Lucy passed this week and she leaves behind great memories and great pups including my Daisy. Lucy was a lights out marking machine with tons of talent who's competitive career was cut short by deafness. She was not only a fine performer but was one of ...

Re: What cover for outside kennel
I have used the kennel covers in the past but they didnt last long. I eventually broke down and had a metal carport put over my kennels. I agree that the covers are not the best long term solution.

Re: HRCH "Rusty" MH
What a great tribute to Rusty. There will always be a part of him in your heart and a part of him will be in any dogs you train in the future. Dogs like Rusty taught us about dog training, but more about our selves when this board started over a decade ago. He will be remembered by all of us. My cond...

Re: Need advise on training my dog
He is really good at wasting people's time and quick to bash but not to help. You need to expose your dog to as many new places of water as you can, sounds like you did all your training in one pond. With exposure he'll gain confidence. Also, if it's possible hunt with another dog so he can watch. ...
