Re: Youth rifle ?
Any of those will work. You only shoot them a few a times a year so they last. I have a savage 270 that I got as a teenager with just a tasco 32 mm scope and it has always killed whatever I shot. I got my boy a savage 7mm-08 with a Nikon 40 mm scope shortened the stock and added a muzzle brake and i...

Re: bumpers
I just use the 2" white and what ever brand I can find on sale. Find you a field with some tall thick grass to work your dog in. They will start relying on their nose more then.

Re: F150 w/ 6.2
Since no one is posting I know a guy that put over 200,000 miles on a 6.2 in a superduty. A good bit of the miles were towing. He traded it in on a new one with the 6.2 so he must have liked it fine.

Re: Aggressive behavior
Every dog is different so different things work for different dogs. It is also amazing how one event can "set" a dog off. Never say a dog will never do something. I have seen dogs mellow out after they have been withdrawn from those situations. May take 6-8 months. This one may be hard to ...

My last two campers I just got the local furniture store that sells mattresses to special order the right size. They are a lot better and thicker than the camper ones. Usually run around $200

Re: Truck talk
It seems like the most common problem with the tundra is the cooling system. Know several people who have had problems with radiators , heater cores, and water pumps. A few with rear axle bearing replacements. They complain that Toyota parts are high! That and the cost of the extra fuel over 200k mi...

Re: Has Social Media killed DS?
I have never posted a whole lot but if I get a minute or two I will glance at the site on average every few days. I have never been on face book etc. and don't plan to but I do miss the traffic that was on here.
It seems that a lot of people have moved to other social instead of boards though.

Re: tell me where to buy a new boat
Are you sure you want a riverboat that is a 14x48? That's a mighty tipsy boat for any place other than a farm pond. Weldbilt isn't a bad boat for the price if you're not going to abuse it. I would strongly consider a 16x50 or so at a minimum. I used to think that smaller boats would get you into mo...

Re: Have any of you camped on Cat Island?
Wingman, did you narrow a date down? I have never camped at cat but I pass by it going fishing further out in LA marsh or chandeliers. Can't promise anything at this point but let me know if you need any help and I can see what I can do. If I can make it I can bring a larger boat to lighten your loa...

Re: Thoughts on High Fence Hunting
Would never hunt one.
My parents have a high fence that borders their property and the deer seem tame. They have the breeder pens and all. Although they claim they haven't imported any deer they sure don't look like deer around here, short wide bodies with big racks.

Re: BOAT TRAILER AXLE FAILURE RANT!! ANGER & FURY
I know what you mean , I use all my stuff hard and a lot. This is what I have found that works best for me: spindle lube axle greased and adjusted periodically through the season, start with quality bearings not Chinese junk, carry a spare hub that fits. Also I quit using trailers with leaf springs,...

All this over a piece of aluminum bent in a circle.
That reminds me I got a couple in the glove box from last season I never called in. I don't even remember what day I killed them now.
