Re: Looking for a Puppy

Not sure what kind of pedigree you are looking for but I did see some chocolate litters on La sportsman. I have a couple of friends with very high pedigree chocolates they are about to breed but if you decide to wait.

Re: Truck talk

My girlfriend had a 13 tundra with the smaller v8. It was a nice truck and we had no trouble out of it but the mileage was terrible. 14-15 mpg was her average. I think the towing was ok on it but every time she pulled my boat with it she said it had no power. I have had 150 in the past and have frie...

Re: Time to Rate the 2016-2017 season

We didn't limit every day but we consistently killed ducks most of the year except when things froze up. I'll give it a 8.

Re: Started dog?

My lab died 2 years ago. I don't have time to train 1. Any suggestions? Started or field trial "washout" I was looking before duck season and ended up buying a dog that wasn't a total washout but the owner had given up on her. She was 18 months old. She had never been hunting before so it...

Re: Question for those who remain

I agree with everyone else about social media, getting older, not having as much time as we once did, etc. I also think more pressure on public land and people worried about others trying to buy or lease their land out from under them has people not posting what they have killed also. My duck season...

Re: Any luck with this cold front

My crew hunted Thursday and Friday ahead of the storm and did very well. We didn't go today because I'm sure our place is all frozen over.

Re: Drake Breathable Waders

Everyone in my group has the breathable waders now. Most have the banded. Me and a couple others have the lacrosse ones. Everyone has been happy with them so far. My son tried the drake ones on but decided on the lacrosse instead.

Re: experience shotgun advice

I think the A400 is the best gun on the market. But saying that I also think it's one of the hardest for some people to make it fit them. I have seen people play with shims for hours and still not get the fit they are looking for. I have no experience with the versamax. I like the browning A5 and th...

Re: 45-70 Gov or 35 Whelen?

Bullets are not that hard to find any of the 3 mentioned. I have all 3 and have only used the 35 for the last 6-7 years. 35 outperforms the other 2 ballisticly by a good bit. They will all 3 get the job done tho.
