Re: 45-70 Gov or 35 Whelen?

The 45-70 can be handloaded to really good ballistics.. The 35 Whelen is pretty tough on the shoulder it is simply the 30-06 necked up to 35 caliber. If you really want to get into sweet shooting with 35 caliber bullets look at the 358 Winchester. This is what I shoot on my Encore. It is the 308 Win...

Re: Concealed carry holster options for Ruger LC9

If you want complete concealment with a shirt tucked in then go with this. Very lightweight and comfortable http://www.tactipac.com/fusionpac-iwb-concealed-carry-holster/ I also really like the Vedder holster Light Tuck.. In fact, I will not purchase a new carry gun unless I know Vedder makes a hols...

Something a little different for things bigger than deer

Just got my Savage FC16SS in 338 Federal in today. Been waiting on this one for a while. It has more power than the 30-06 and does it with a short action gun. It is capable of taking any animal in North America with much less recoil. Take a gander http://www.ammoland.com/2015/06/338-federal-on-a-rol...

Look at the old .244 Rem. which became the new 6mm Rem in the 80s.

Re: holsters

Lots of holster options out there.. But 3 things that you need to look for.. 1) it covers the trigger guard... 2) it is made of YOUR gun, not a generic one size fits many.. 3) Should be made of quality materials.. Kydex or leather.. If leather make sure you replace the holster every few years when t...

Re: The World Is Coming Apart...

I have been watching what has been going on in Baton Rouge and Minneapolis but I have not commented on either one, because honestly I don't know what happened there. I don't know if it they were justified shootings or not. I don't know if the officers have any biases against minorities or if they ju...
