I have the M-2 and love it, but I shot the Beretta Urika II in South America and it never missed a lick. It's a little heavier then the Benelli, but it kicks less and it's a whole lot easier to thumb a shell into the magazine.

No problem with direction of sound. Also, for about $125. or so, you can get some custom fit plugs made locally. They do the job, but you can't hear someone talking with them. I wish I had used protection when I was your age.

Go to your local ear doctor and he makes a cast of your ear canal. You send them to ESP to use to make your ear plugs. Mine fit so perfect I sometimes forget I am wearing them. They will not pop out on you. You have to gently pull on them to get them out.

I am fairly sure their price includes changing all of the oil in it.

I use ESP plugs. They are costly, but should last forever. You don't need to turn on the sound or use the battery to get the protection. Hearing is close to natural when you use without the battery.

Mine are made out of tailpipe. The floor is 24" off the ground and no trouble moving with a 4-wheeler.
