damnyankeee, Mississippi does not charge an extra WMA "fee" to hunt on any State Wildlife Management Area. This sounds a little wacky, Duckaholic, but if SB see's this he'll clear it up. Some areas in those fields were re-planted in hardwoods about 3-4 (?) years ago.
Whatever happens, I doubt we'd lose duck hunting there.

To clear up a couple of things. The Arkansas Game & Fish Commission has said the purpose of all this is to "acquire data" on who hunts where. Tennessee has always had them (same for all hunters though). Arkansas is bringing them into effect for OOS hunters only, this coming season. (No, it ain't just $10.00, don't get me started on that).
