Trash ducks...is there such a thing?

Oooohh, wicket my boy. You just put them little rockets in water for about a day and let 'em sit. Then take them out and put in marinade of dale's seasoning, tabasco, and maybe a lil' lemon pepper for about 8 hours. Then I turn the grill on low(gas), only light one burner, put the tealies on the top...

Email, people, respond by email. The number of people who have seen this now will further increase the pressure on the place.

So you're saying a Canvasback is a trash duck? Man, they have legs that'd make buffalo wings run for cover. Shovelers from the rice fields taste as good as mallards; but only when they've been there a few days.

Trash ducks...is there such a thing?

Okay, boys, we all know that everybody loves the mallards. I see a good many sprigs throught the season and enjoy shooting one to fill in my "off ducks" when I get the chance. I even like taking a big ole whiteheaded widgeon when the opportunity arises. But 6 gadwalls makes me just as happy. Now if ...

MS Waterfowl Assoc??

Yep, I'm interested if it's not gonna be another Drunks Unlimited country clubber event...I'd like to see something that would get all the voices together so we can change some things or make things better for the state waterfowlers.

If you had to choose between early season & late season

Well, I base my hunting success on weather reports, hatch counts and water conditions..evaluating each based on previous years' records and take into account how much available food is out there , the dewpoint/temperature spread for the week prior to season and moon cycles...then I make my final and...

LAB NAMES

Got a yellow pup named Apache. Recently lost my black gyp, Belle and before her, I had a gun-shy black male named Comanche. Hehe, go figure, a Comanche afraid of a gun, kinda ironic ain't it? But for real, I have a deep respect for Native Americans, but naming a dog after them is probably a slap in ...

Jim from TNT....I sent an email but it failed to deliver. Starkville is out of the 60 mile range. I'm available most anytime, but Saturday afternoon is best, weather permitting. Email me again with a different address if you can.

Get the Eagle eye view...

Have you ever wanted to see your lease or private property from the air? Do those pesky ASCS maps really give you the detail you want? I am a Commercial rated pilot and own a 4 seat, Cessna 170B. I'm trying to build up some more flight time and the costs are killin' me. I have 550 hours already and ...

Get the Eagle eye view...

Well, mallardhunter, if I still own the plane come duck season, you can bet I'll be flying it! I can scout all of my duckholes, 30 miles from the furthest south to the furthest north, in about 30 minutes, when it would take a half day using truck and fourwheeler. I have noticed that when I see ducks...

Tips for Early Teal Season

I just throw out no more than a dozen regular mallard dekes. Sometimes I use a teal whistle, but you can use modified quacks on your mallard hen call which works fine. But as someone said, they are coming no matter what you do...and the thing is, they're kinda dumb about it. A buddy of mine and I hu...
