Re: 2-4D alternatives ?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to yall.

Thanks for the help.

Now I just need it to dry out enough so I can get my other stuff planted.

Not gonna complain too much about the wet weather yet, I know how fast we can see that turn off and go into drought.

Re: 2-4D alternatives ?

Guess my question wasn't clear. I know 2-4d would be safe for my grassed but in the area i need to spray I it is not allowed this time of year due to danger of drift.

So I am looking for another broadleaf killer. I love 2-4d but its not an option for me in this spot.

2-4D alternatives ?

Looking to knock back some broadleafs in a few spots that I have a pretty good crop of natural and volunteer duck food coming up in. Couldn't get in there early to use 2-4d so I am looking for my best alternative, something that will be the least harmful to plants like panic grass, sprangle top, bar...

Re: Bad news

I have been saying for a year or so that ag land prices are on a bubble. I fear a lot of farmers are gonna get hit real hard when it crashes, and it will. I cant see crop land sustaining some of the 3-5K per acre prices it has been going for. I just hope we have money in the conservation programs re...

Re: Year of the band

Gadwall bands seem pretty scarce. Had a hole in the delta where we killed several hundred a year for 8 years running and never saw one.

At a place I managed in LA we killed 500 +/- a year out of one spot and I have only seen 1 gad band come out of it in over ten years.

Re: Remington versa max

One of my best friends did the road show for them with this gun. He was, repeat WAS, a Benelli or Berretta shooter. Finished the tour and sold his SBEs and his extrema. He is one of the best and most honest shotgunners I know and he thinks this gun is #1 on the road he had one "try gun" he...

Just trying to find my cost on fighting evaporation, pumping times etc.

Re: The moist soil....

Back when I was a gamekeep and wildlife manager the moist soil lands I managed held birds the earliest and most regularly. I have photos of those ponds covered in birds in the mid october time range when nothing else around was showing any birds at all. I am a big believer in moist soil.

Re: Built our new blind today ***Updated with brushed pics p

Brush, brush and brush. But the structure looks good. I would work real hard on making the hard lines vanish. Horizontals just dont show up like that in nature too often, that and sharp right angles. Someone on here once said "if two loads of brush looks good, four is what you need." or so...

Re: North Dakota Outfitter

Pressure is worse the closer to the MN border you get. Not sure where you plan to base camp out of but the further west and north you go the less pressure you will have. I have been going up there for 10 years and even way back when we started we put in full afternoons of driving to find quality hun...

Re: What would you do?

I managed a place that was 30 or so catfish ponds for a few years. We left some of them in wild foods and did a mixture of disking and bushhogging. You are creating hemi-wetland habitat and in my experiance it works very well. I tried to create varied pockets, points and wind breaks when I worked on...
