Re: Inexpensive Boat Blind Design
Thanks, JD & Dan I set it up in the yard to let it dry-out after Friday's drizzle. Here are some views of it 'grassed-up'. http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/zz360/Anatidae1/IMG_10981_zps6e1152b6.jpg Front side - bow This is a 'before' view...... http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/zz360/Anatidae...

Re: Mud motors
The only brand I've had experience with is Mud Buddy. My wife & I settled on a 45 HD Mag Sport. It was the best choice we could've made at the time because it was their most reliable 'modded' motor they offered........probably still is, for the money. If you are not mechanically inclined - I wou...

Re: This place is all but dead.....
All very true, Randy. And yes, the guide's getting shut out are mostly hunting prepared holes although many of the hardcore public land hunters I know are struggling also, both in MS and AR. It's been 'slow' here, too. Not all of us have the luxury of time and means to hunt every day and stay on to...

Re: Inexpensive Boat Blind Design
Thanks, guys. Re Cane: I think it helps break-up the outline a little and gives the whole 'island' effect a bit more depth - especially if you use it to create shadows. If you know the sun is going to 'hit' you, you can move the cane around to make sure you're in the shadow, so birds can't pick-up a...

Re: Inexpensive Boat Blind Design - 'Grassed-up'
I still have a couple more stubble straps to add here and there, but this is my view from the forward gunner's seat (i.e., standing-up).......showing how well the dog is hidden on the hunt deck......... http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/zz360/Anatidae1/2014122102_zps68916009.jpg It's hard to get a ...

Re: How Is Your Duck Season So Far?
We've experienced something a little different this year. Since the ducks are making themselves scarce, you sitll go because you never know what's going to show-up from day to day......and what's going to 'drop-in'. Today was the third time we've worked honkers into the timber. The first two times, ...

Re: This place is all but dead.....
..........even the guides in the area getting skunked. A guide getting skunked? Must not hunt very 'mobile'. I know times get tough sometimes, though. You take most folks that kill ducks on a consistent basis? - they likely have a good spot with lots of good habitat and birds. But put the majority ...

Re: Let's 'sang' a SONG!
OK.......CB is out to get me.......
This week's episode (just happened to be 'going' while I was on the computer) featured a guitar-pickin' dude sangin' a song.....IN THE DUCK BLIND!
Really?
I was thinking somebody oughta do him a favor and put him out of his misery - awful singing.

Yeah, I just glanced at the page and mis-read it.
