Am I about to screw up on the MS river??

Take a good look and listen to these guys as many of them have been out there and done that on the ole girl. I have fished and hunted that river a great deal and Meeka is right never loose respect for the river or it will get ya. I have seen stumps that were as big around as a Toyota pick-up come ou...

age at which you were PRIME?

Judge I was surprised to read your statement. I have just turned thirty and hopefully I am not headed down hill, however I can not question the years of wisdom that come after 30 as I am not yet there. I would venture to guess for myself that it will be from 25 to 40 as I get better every day at pic...

Decoys

I have mostly Flambeau dekes but I also own a few G&H. The G&H decoys are great. The Flambeau dekes look good but the past couple of years their paint has not held up worth a crap... If you buy them be prepared to get your brush out after the season ends...... The trick is staying out of sight and n...

Starter duck call?

Duck Dawg, I would have to say the the Primos Wench is one of the easiest calls out there to blow. I don't own one, but some of my hunting buddies do and I have used theirs many times when mine was froze up or out of commission for one reason or another (It never gets left in the truck). Most import...

2001 BREEDING DUCK SURVEY

Brian, that is an excellent point that you made. I know that I would be totally for loosing the hen mallard either way because this can do nothing but help the numbers in the short and long run. So with 5 or 6 ducks I highly recommend taking the suzie out of the mix..... [img]images/smiles/icon_eek....

Rice Field Question

Lazy, I usually lease land in the MS delta and pay approximately half that price. If you are close to stuttgart you should see ducks but those ducks receive a great deal of pressure. Good luck and do your homework...

so whats your favorite habitat??

I agree with GC about the timber and a hole the size of my living room. There is something magical about wathcing those birds drop in through the trees. I also truly enjoy goose hunting from a pit in a corn or rice field..... Can't wait until December.

a perfect dove field.?

I would have to say that each and every one of these fields sound great. Fortunately the field that we hunt has powerlines, a dead tree in one of the corners and a small pond covered up by a bunch of small oak and maple trees. Oh, it also has corn on it this year and there will be a few rows cut for...
