Duck Blind Danger
Guys and Gals, Just a reminder to be careful when working on blinds. We all get a little slack sometimes. We had a big tree fall on a blind in our timber hole. It was barely hanging on so we had to get it out. We all debated on how to best come at it and figured the old eat an elephant in small bite...

Re: What would you give up?
You guys are all pretty hard core. I just got to thinking about what I needed this year and decided I am buying nothing new. I have stuff in a closet that I've never used. I remember the old red ball and canvas waders. The new ones sure are nice in terms of comfort. I agree with the hand warmers. Th...

What would you give up?
I was thinking as sportsmen we are constantly on the lookout for new stuff that's going to allow us to kill more ducks, bigger bucks or catch more fish. But in reality, most of it doesn't matter. What have you acquired that you could give up or do without and it probably wouldn't make a difference i...

Re: Present day roll call
I still drop in on occasion. Just so little new comments, it's gotten longer between visits. Learned a lot on here over the years. Would love to see DS regain some of the old glory.

Re: Tallahatchie Duck hole
Bigwater made a lot good points particularly about not over hunting it. One thing to think about since you will have only the single blind is what are you going to do if the wind isn't favorable to set up in it? I'd start thinking about the direction of the predominant wind and have a plan. Bigwater...

I check in most every day. Don't post a lot. It used to be you'd get some good insight on stuff that you maybe hadn't thought of.

Re: Sport stand
The MoMarsh legs are easily adjustable to me. I have the invisi-lab. What's irritating is taking down the top. It easy to do but I can't ever get it right the first time. My buddy has a momarsh that is just a stand with no top and he likes it. The one place both suck is cypress sloughs with a bunch ...

Re: AR Opener
LOL! I guess I do need to get me some of that Hevi X then. My problem ain't the shot, it's the shooter. Guys in my camp said they were killing them in the NE and in Stutgart but they always are. The problem with the SE is the farmers pick the fields clean unless you pay them and no one wants to real...

AR Opener
How did you guys do? We've done a lot better in SE AR and have done a lot worse. I'd give it a D with an F being skunked. No one in our camp limited. Had some local birds. There's very little food or water except what has been pumped. Stayed over for Sunday hoping the front that cam through would pu...

Re: How to get rid of duckweed
I ordered some of those pellets from the back of a field and stream magazine probably 20 years ago and they seemed to work. Not sure what the active ingredient was. Here's a link that talks about ways to control

Re: Lets Talk 20 gauges
I bought my wife a M2 in 12G with a petite frame for ducks and she really likes the gun. I imagine it would be great in a 20G. Look at a Franchi 20G. I went the same route and bought it for my wife for Valentines day years ago. We were big into quail hunting at the time. I really like it but it was ...
