Re: Anyone short the MKT?
I maxxed out my Roth IRA for 2019, the mutual fund, at the Monday night close price. Monday night it stunk pretty bad, so looking forward to the tax free windfall at 59 1/2. Declaring it for 2019 means I can now start putting it in for 2020. Planning on doing as much of that as possible, thought abo...

Since you got folding money, just tell them your name is Tater Salad and get a bill of sale, give them the address of the Salvation Army.

Re: Dove
The pay hunts are out there, but usually word of mouth with no advertising. Hard to find. I used to hunt with a host that initially had the same crew and it was $50, pay whenever or day of show. Fast forward and the host figured out it could be a money maker, and now it's $150 just to hunt and $200 ...

Re: I don’t like this marketing.
A couple of years ago the had a typo error, and if you hurried up and renewed by mail you could cheat the man out of three-fiddy cent.

Re: I don’t like this marketing.
Those fee's use to only apply as a "convenience fee" for online credit card processors and the third party handling it for renewals. It didn't use to be applied to the mail in renewal, but the robots got butt-hurt because they weren't getting their nickel on crusty check writing mail it in...

Re: MS Wildlife Extravaganza Boycott
Normally I'm against whatever the Corps is "for", after permanently destroying the entire Obion river bottoms (only stopping after being sued by a group of Nashville duck hunting attorneys) and destroying about two miles of the Cache above Clarendon, before stopping, those two being one of...

Re: Finding more arrowheads
This is just fascinating. To think that, that many natives, made that many arrowheads and shot them at something that many times over the course of, well who knows how many years, and we're still finding a bunch of them, it's just incredible. There's just no telling how many are out there. I have tr...

Re: Ask Ducksouth - Abandoned Railroad Ties?
That makes sense, most of the ones I'm seeing are a little rough, but they've been piled up there for over two years.
Maybe I'll take one a day until I get pinched, surely a there's a good attorney on board here.

Ask Ducksouth - Abandoned Railroad Ties?
With my job comes a bit of travel. I pass by three locations that have a huge pile of old "abandoned" railroad cross ties. I say abandoned because they are used, and have been there for years, and since I can see them piled up between the railroad tracks and the road, so has everyone else ...

So when you see this wig-wagging at you, burning a hole in your retinas, it means this spot is taken. Fark off.

Re: Off Season - First Repair - Spotlight
One topic leading to another and jumping the tracks, I wouldn't want it any other way. :D Here is a nightime comparison between the rebuilt QBeam with the GE4509 landing light and a 1980's QBeam "Big Max" 400,000 candlepower spotlight. The camera automatically got more exposure than I want...

Cindy Hyde Smith - Duck Season Ends Jan.31
Our Senator got this passed in both the Senate & the House. Now it's my understanding that this is on the Donald's desk waiting on his signature. I think that's right? While I really, really like the season ending later, I'm very leery of politicians meddling in any hunting season. Next time the...

Off Season - First Repair - Spotlight
Boat Spotlight: I have always had a Q-beam spotlight and a fixed bow light. My original bow spotlight was the typical off road light, wiring "thru the bolt" design. I anticipated the light being shattered and purchased an aircraft landing light, to be the replacement when the inevitable oc...

Re: Anyone seeing ducks?
I've hunted two different areas of the state, slim pickens.
Plenty of water now, but haven't even had wood duck shoot.
Need some cold weather up North.
