Re: Dent's Landing at Albarmarle sold, Chotard may be next
Now that is a great idea Mud! The COE could take some of that dredging money and equipment and dredge the entire lake; then, use the extra holding capacity of the lake as a place to pump excess water from the Ms. River.

Re: Dent's Landing at Albarmarle sold, Chotard may be next
I don't find you offensive, just amusing. You are always right and anyone that disagrees with you is a moron, an idiot, trouble maker or a combination of the three. In the Logic class I took in college, they taught that this is a common tactic used by someone who cannot support their position with f...

BR.............now I have made you mad, I am stupid and you are calling me names again. De ja vous (sp?) Perhaps you should consider some anger management treatment. Are you related to Benny? "There is no god given right to make it public." .........We both agree on this. If the State, the...

Re: Dent's Landing at Albarmarle sold, Chotard may be next
Perhaps some of those landowners inherited the land from their family who owned the property before the river was there and before it was covered by "public" water such that the current landowners had no choice and have had to watch the public fish over land that they pay for every year. :...

Re: Dent's Landing at Albarmarle sold, Chotard may be next
BR549, Do you enjoy responding to my posts with something other than an answer to my questions? You must, because you constantly ignore my questions, and normally go on a rant about how I am making you mad or how I am so stupid. Based on your lack of response to my question, I assume the land below ...

Ringnecks have pretty much the same diet as a Gadwall or Widgeon.

Re: Good Question
Honestly, I think it depends on how many ducks there are in the area and the kind of year that we are having. Also depends on the hole. Has it been there since the being of time with ducks using it every year? Some holes seem to be able to take a pounding and the ducks keep coming. Others can take v...

Re: Status of Yazoo Pumping Project
BR549, Just out of curiousity, when you say the pumping project was promised to the "few" who want it years ago, even before the 1973 flood, are you referring to 1941? I assume that you are. If so, how many of the "few" who want it were actually alive or old enough to understand ...

Re: Status of Yazoo Pumping Project
Perhaps you guys haven't read what the COE is saying about why we need the project. The first question and answer in that section of the site that Dan was nice enough to post on here says the following: 1. Question: Why do we need this project? Answer: It will reduce flood damages and protects citiz...

Re: Status of Yazoo Pumping Project
I agree with Crow, but if we have to spend $220,000,000.00 plus an additional $2,000,000.00 per year of the tax payers money (and I am not saying we should), I say we pay it to the home and land owners who have the flooding problem, not the COE and its subcontractors.

Re: Status of Yazoo Pumping Project
Dan,
How much land could you buy with $220,000,000 up front and an additional $2,000,000 per year?

Re: Status of Yazoo Pumping Project
Don't hold my BINGO. I want to use some of that COE money to buy that marginal bean land that is subject to flooding, too. In fact, it would be environmentally fantastic to buy up that marginal bean land that is subject to flooding, plant it back in trees like most of it was before being cleared in ...

Re: Status of Yazoo Pumping Project
BINGO! If the maintenance, dredging, pumping or whatever you want to call it is intended to prevent the flooding of homes (in the 100 year flood plain) and crops, why not just spend all the government money on buying those homes and crop lands and turn the land into wildlife habitat available for th...
