I tried earlier to post these but had a lot of trouble. You can go to this site and see some of my photos from this season. (When you get there, click on the photo to see the enlargement).

Last picture from may last day this season

Here is a picture or two from this year's season. Man! A day duck hunting beats a day at the office, hands down.

Diving down? Does it happen?

I absolutely believe that they will dive and swim under grass or whatever until they drown themselves. I have seen it happen too many times. (Three times our last day out this season.) It seems that diving ducks are more prone to do it but we have had mallards to do it as well. Usually when we see ...

That blind will have it's 10th birthday next season. And "yes" the water was much higher than usual....that blind is sitting on the levee. All the rain this season was unbelievable.

watch out....1-23-02........

I learned from an extremely reliable source that a fellow duck hunter killed a 5 1/2 foot rattelsnake in the greentree area at the O'Keefe Management area on January 10th. He was coiled up on the opposite side of the log this gent was sitting on. He brought the snake out and had it in his truck ...

How many years experience?

30 years this season. Grew up in and have always hunted around Crowder, MS. Where does the time go? I've seen ducks do some weird things and been in on some hunts that most would consider lies. I still have plenty to learn. I have to say that I have never seen a year like this one though....maybe ...

worms/parasites

Hardly a season has gone by in my life that I haven't seen a duck with those parasites. DU or Wildfowl (don't remember which) did an article on it a couple of years back. Don't remember the name of the parasite though. That would be a source you could check out.

Learning to call

Some "GREAT" tapes have been mentioned. One of the best (an audio cassette) I've ever heard was by Dud Faulk (of Faulk calls). (And "No" I don't own a Faulk call.) He took each call and broke it down sound by sound and explained how to blow it and when to use it. He explained mallard calls, scaup ...
