Re: MS Wildlife Extravaganza Boycott
Dan, You may or may not can answer this, and its really irrelevant, but with a high river at Vicksburg, say 52-3 feet, has anyone done a study on where the water would cover if there were no backwater levees? I'm just curious. I'm not saying they don't serve their purpose because 95% of the time, t...

Re: MS Wildlife Extravaganza Boycott
That is a virtually impossible argument. We are so far from anything natural it’s comical considering land use changes and drainage/flood control through the River basin. The best we can do is manage the resource to try and re-create “natural” conditions as we can best determine them. Assuming we al...

MS Wildlife Extravaganza Boycott
Just curious if anybody had plans or thoughts on the planned Ganza boycott given the MS Wildlife Federation’s choice of politics over biology in opposing the backwater pump project. Personally I think it’s been the same old suck fest for the past couple decades and this is just icing on the cake to ...

Re: MDWFP Commission
At least Dr. Polles has real-world wildlife work experience. When you choose politics over science that means nothing. At the national meeting of The Wildlife Society last week, I saw Mike Phillips - MT state senator and head biologist for Ted Turner - deliver a passionate request for scientists to...

Re: Crushed Limestone or concrete
Welp given your convenient location right next to BFE... I would recommend checking with Vulcan in Vicksburg for 610 limestone and MMC in Vicksburg for crushed concrete. If MMC has crushed concrete it will be cheaper and work great as a base, after you magnet the metal out of it, then you could top ...

Re: What would you give up?
This is getting slightly off topic but if you are the handwarmer type I highly recommend the Zippo hand warmers. Perhaps the highest return on investment in terms of duck hunting gear.

That area I would say $65 - $125 depending on size, fertility, past management, drainage, etc.
