Re: Levee Board Still Trying to Drain the Delta

Who pays the lawyers to pursue the appeal and who gets rich if the Levee Board wins? The key to understanding this whole issue is to follow the money.

Levee Board Still Trying to Drain the Delta

Noticed in today's paper that the Board of Ms. Levee Commissioners has gone all the way to the U.S. 5th Circuit court of appeals in an attempt to force the federal government to waste more money on the abandonded Yazoo Backwater Project. Hope the 5th Circuit shoots them down! By the way, where does ...

Re: Rhino vs. Ranger

Easy answer.....Ranger. I duck hunted in rice fields for years with a 500; then, decided to upgrade to an 800 crew. One of my hunting buddies bought my 500. I have hunted out of my crew for two years and love it. The old 500 is still in use at the duck camp and going strong. With the crew, you can t...

Re: Bad Boy Buggies

I have both a ranger and a bad boy buggie. My ranger stays in the Delta at the duck camp, and my bad boy stays in the hills at my deer camp. I would NEVER try to put the bad boy thru the mud and water that we have at my Delta duck camp.

Planting Plans for Next Year - City Slicker Needs Help

I have two 20 acre fields (about 10 miles apart)one inTallahatchie and one in Leflore county that I plan to plant for ducks next year. Both are land leveled and irrigated. One will hold about 12 inches of water on one side and 6 inches on the other. It is in the middle of about 1000 acres of fields ...

Re: Public Hearing re: Yazoo Pump

BR549 - Are you saying we need the pumps so your deer hunting will be better?

Wildlife displaced or even killed by flood water will bounce back. Look at the places in Ms. that are on the river side of the Levee. They always bounce back from floods.

Re: Public Hearing re: Yazoo Pump

I went to Costa Rica for Spring Break with the family. We were on a small tour bus traveling through a flat area where they primarily grow sugar cane. There were numerous small homes along the road. The tour guide started explaining how rich and fertile the land was in that area and how a nearby riv...

Re: Removing button willows/elbow bushes from Cypress Brake

I actually am planning on getting one of those bobcats with a grinder/tree shredder attachment on the front to grind and shred everything. That way it will not disrurb the soil as much.

Removing button willows/elbow bushes from Cypress Brake

I have two long and fairly narrow cypress brakes that have large trees on the edges and a few in the middle. With the exception of those trees, everything else is completely covered in button willows that are thick and way over my head. They are so thick, a sparrow would have difficulty getting thre...

Re: Dent's Landing at Albarmarle sold, Chotard may be next

I happen to know of a guy who owns property on the lake and is very upset about the idea that the public may no longer be able to use it. He is always concerned about the public good and because of that he would be the ideal person to donate his land to the state for the public good. We could call t...

Re: Dent's Landing at Albarmarle sold, Chotard may be next

I don't have personal knowledge about the land under and around Chotard, but do have personal knowledge about other water boides iin Ms. that formerly were not waterways or water holding bodies. I also know that since the mid 1800's the river has moved several miles in places such that areas that us...
