land for sale

I have a house in Valley Park that a friend and I bought a couple of years ago. We have been hunting public land and have kept up a small lease each year. We are looking to buy a small piece of land within an hours drive or less. Maybe near Rolling Fork, Mayersvillle or somewhere in the area. We are ...

question about February youth waterfowl hunt

I am planning on taking a couple of kids hunting on the Feb. hunt. They will be under sixteen and from out of state. The way I am interpreting what I've read is that they should not need a hunting license. I don't believe they need state waterfowl or Federal stamps. If anyone knows for sure on the ...

looks like a good start for the opener

a pipe broke and we lost all of our water. we have one of the prettier mudflats in the area and are currently holding four ducks. Looks like it will be one of those mornings that is mostly about daydreams and beautiful sunrises. Kinda cool thing about duck hunting though is that I'm still believing ...

Mahannah Deer draw

I've been drawn for a achery hunt in Mahannah Oct 14-19 and I was wondering if anyone had any insight on how things work there. I've tried calling and usually get the answering machine, anyway just wondering if anyone has seen the process in action. Do you draw for a block to hunt each day? Pick ...

Fishin question

I've got a fishin question I'd appreciate some help with. I've got a couple of days off at the end of the week and was planning to come up and fish Lake Chotard, Albermarle and surrounding areas. I see that the river gauge is going to be at 24' or 25' Will there be any decent fishing to be found ...

Has anyone used one of the Killer Weed layout blind kits? If so do they work pretty well?

I bought some and found that I had a big mess in a matter of minutes, not worth $60 so I took it back. Most layout blinds have straps for attaching native vegetation. Use some of whatever you are hunting ...

Words of encouragement for theOOS guys(me included) Mississippi actually has ducks, which makes for a litlle better hunting than I am accustomed to at home. We are used to trying our ass off to kill a big duck in a hunt, much less a limit. Most of the season I have listened to MS residents gripe ...
