Re: Key to hunting public land
I remember 8-10 years ago on a hard freeze we were hunting a public spot. It was somewhat crowded and the ducks were really using a 200 yard stretch if that. There were 3-4 of us hunting. 3 of us took our own boat, got there early and spread out. One on the n end, one the south and one in the middl...

Did anyone lose a deer?
I found a deer last week on public land in the delta. If you lost one and if you can provide sufficient details, I'll give him to you.

Re: Little help please.. how far do
You can't hunt within a quarter mile of a church on Sunday while church services are being held.
As far as I know, the only restrictions dealing with hunting in proximity to a house are local ordinances.

Re: Thoughts on High Fence Hunting
SB, you said that you think a high fence violates the public trust doctrine. I don't think it does, in light of this state's laws approving high fences. The public trust doctrine says that the State's wildlife are held in trust for the benefit of the people. From https://mswildlife.org/protecting-wi...

Re: Thoughts on High Fence Hunting
A fundamental reason I'm not in favor of high fences is they violate the public trust doctrine. The fence makes a public resource private. Interesting, but it seems to me that by passing laws regulating and essentially approving of high fence enclosures, the Legislature has already abrogated the pu...

We've had it for a couple of weeks. So far so good. Cheaper than Comcast. The TV picture is better than Comcast's. The internet always works, unlike Comcast.

Re: Value of turkey rights question
you've also got to remember that the guys paying $12 an acre for all hunting have to be talked out of turkey hunting. I know people that pay full price to secure exclusive turkey hunting rights. That's the nut of the question I'm asking. How much would an average renter take to give up the turkey r...

Unwritten rules
What would you do? Rule #1. No real turkey hunter would shoot one out of a tree . Scenario: A turkey starts gobbling about 150 yards back in the woods from a food plot. You set up on the edge of the plot. He responds to calling. Everything looks good. But at flydown time, he doesn't fly down. He fli...

Value of turkey rights question
On an average piece of ground, how much of the total hunting rental value would the exclusive turkey rights be worth? Let's say the place leases for $12 an acre, all hunting included. The property has average Mississippi non-delta deer hunting and average turkey hunting. If you were to separate out ...

Did not think that they could run radar on a state highway when their population is only 681 people. Thought they had to have like 15,000 in population to do that?
