Ya might want to advertise on campus...
If you haven't heard, there is a pretty renowned waterfowl and wetlands research unit on campus... It is called Wildlife and Fisheries...
Might not hurt to let them in on the Bully DU goings-on...
Just a thought.

Thanks...
All,
I appreciate the info...
I'll stop by Columbus, but I agree that the featherworks stuff looks fantastic...
On the proper way to carry a bird - From my own work, panty hose is the absolute worst thing you can do - might as well let your hard-mouthed Chessy cary it to the taxidermist ...

Diving Duck Taxidermists
Accumulated some nice diving ducks this year and need to get a few taxidermied...
Apart from the more expensive shops (Woods and Water, Featherworks - though their stuff looks awesome), does anyone have a good suggestion?
Anyone use the Trophy Room near Columbus, MS?
Thanks for any input...

Final word
Panther is unlikely to hold large numbers of birds - as it "did in the old days" anytime in the near future...
Look around and what do ya see? Food - no... Not many beans, rice - only catfish ponds and reforested timber... No place for MALL's ...
All that said - it has its other great points!

Trim Cane Opener
We killed 9 this morning - mostly teal, but four greenheads and a general in the bag too...
Seemed like most people had 2-5 and saw a fair number of birds - wood ducks were actually not that plentiful in the back honey hole this morning...
How'd everyone else do there and around the area?

Like they said
No short pumping with 3.5 shells - they'll jam, but once you get used to the extended pump it is no big deal.
Also, as was said, evaluate the pattern before hitting the field. I've had two barrels for my Nova and they've both patterned completely different.
Stock length - Long stock on this ...

Bass Pro job
That $20 job from bass pro is a great investment...
Get two...
Forget about the anchor balls and other weighted rigs... You'll have to walk out and reset it after every third flight of ducks - Use a fixed pole jerk cord system...

Versatile food
Seteria species are very good bird food...
Waterfowl, quail, dove, dickie birds, and even mamals will munch on foxtail, more or less depending on the species. If you have a mix of panic grasses, millet, and foxtail, you have a diverse and very sustained food source over the winter...

Race
I'm sure all can relate to this...
10 pm night before duck hunt - Three trucks role up at the exact same time for the best public hole around....
Hilarity ensues!
Ten guys, three dogs, and 300 decoys all trying to race 1 mile through the forest, 9 hrs before shooting light, in the freezing ...

Tangle Free Brand bullets
Cure-all,
Use Tangle free brand bullet weights (they are pre-assembled and snap on) with the clear line and wrap but don't tuck... All tucking the line does is result in cold fingers before dawn trying to unravel knots. The bullet tangle free weights won't tangle in a bag even when loosly ...
