I use a 1/3 vinegar 2/3 alcohol solution on mine when they get out of the water. Just pour it in each ear twice and let them shake it out. This was actually recommended by my vet.

If you use your hunting as another day of training then there's not alot to fix for hunt test season. It's hard to hold your dog to that standard, but it will pay off in the long run.

If he breaks in duck season, guess what's going to happen at the test.
