i raised 8 mallard babys last year. go to a co-op or something and get mashed up chicken food. after a few weeks or a month get some mashed up corn and mix it in with the chicken food. i would try the chicked food for a while and if it doesn't take to it i would ask a vet or something. good luck ...

got a 6 month old blk female and she wont pickup anything. had her at the lake yesterday and she jumped in the water, then chased a duck. left the bumper out there. she loves the water but just wont pick up anything. wont pick up on land either. what should i do to get her to retrieve?

i wouldnt worry to much about it right now. got a 4 month myself and i am just getting the basic obedience down. he is still in the puppy stage and just wants to play. just dont punish him for not bringing it back right now. try using a wing or a small teal if you have one.
