a friend of mine shoots a nova and last year, he let it slip over in the blind. the firing pin froze in the bolt. he spent an hour trying to get it to shoot. the only time my 879 hasn't done what it was supposed to do was because of a hungover aiming system. i too shoot a high flyer xtra full for 2 reasons.
1. i had to have a steelshot choke
2. it was the only one i could find at the last minute.

i will have to get another for hunting in the woods. this one is just too tight for that.

exahust height doesn't matter. it's the intake that matters. if you're blowing out exahust, water doesn't have a chance to get in. however, i've heard from a couple of fellas that the new hondas (the ones with the lateral engines) hate the water. but i know for a fact the old 300's are like ...

this happened to me just the other day. i do alot of mechanic work so i knew how to approach it. take off your barrel and grab your choke wrench. ease the choke out just a little and squirt some penetrating oil all around it and then run your tube back in and back out. squirt more oil every so often ...
