Re: Thoughts on CWDs Affect on Duck Hunting

I agree with doing away with feeders. Our neighbor in the delta used to run 30 to 35 feeders prior to the feeding ban. His feeding absolutely changed our deer sightings. This year has been one of my favorite bow seasons just hunting hot oak trees and not worrying about any type of feed on us or the ...

Still here. Hard to believe I have been reading this page since 99 or 2000 or whenever it got started. I hope it gets active again.

Re: CWD found in MS delta.

I am with duckluk on this issue. I just don't think killing all of those deer will accomplish much. Hopefully those in charge will really think through their plan before randomly killing a lot of deer.

Re: CWD found in MS delta.

Dukluk,
That is exactly what I was thinking. I also wonder who will let them come on their land and just kill multiple deer for testing. This may get interesting fast.

Re: CWD found in MS delta.

DanP,
Have you heard how they intend to target certain deer. I am interested since our family farm is within the 25 mile zone at Onward.

Jdbuckshot, definitely look into the HSA account also. Not only is it a good deduction, but you can use it for anything medical related like prescriptions, glasses, etc.

Re: Ask Ducksouth - Health Insurance

I got tired of paying ridiculous prices for health insurance about 8 years ago. Now, I have a policy that has a 10000 or 11000 deductible, and the premium is 258/month for a family of four. All of us are healthy, so we rarely go to the doctor. This plan also pays for our yearly wellness check ups. T...

Re: Which week in Illinois

Thank you miket. Also, I should have clarified that I am talking about the first or second week of November. From what I have heard, it should be a good hunt either week.

Which week in Illinois

Just wondering which week everyone would choose to hunt in Illinois. I am going for the first time, and I am trying to decide between the first and second week. I have heard the first week they are more responsive to calling and rattling, but the second week will have more chasing. Thanks for any fe...

Re: Dental Implants

I am a dentist, and I would agree with everything that deltaquack said. I would add a couple of things. I would highly recommend that you have an oral surgeon or periodontist place the implants. Also, if you are close to umc, I have had great success with the oral surgery residency program. They wil...

Re: 2015 Recruiting Thread

Camlock, after reading your post I am much more positive about our prospects. I guess I have been hung up on the fact that Ryan probably won't lead us, and Kincaid just doesn't seem like a pure qb. Hopefully we can keep Chad Kelly out of the Library and the police station and let him lead us to a bi...

Re: 2015 Recruiting Thread

Can somebody help me understand how Ole Miss keeps getting the top receivers? We haven't really had a great qb since eli, but freeze is still able to bring in really good receivers. If I were an elite WR, I would want to know an elite qb is on campus. I am glad we have these guys, but I just don't u...

claiborne county monster

I can't believe the 200" buck killed in claiborne county hasn't generated any interest here or at the bull. That deer is an absolute stud. It really doesn't even look like a mississippi deer. Anyway just wondering why there hasn't been any talk of this buck.

Re: SEC West tie breaker?

Mike, I think auburn would go in your scenario. They would have the head to head over ole miss, ole miss would have the head to head over state and alabama, but alabama would have the head to head over auburn. As an ole miss fan, I hope that exact scenario plays out in addition to auburn losing to G...

Is it slower than normal

It seems like this year has been slower for big bucks than years past. Our club on the MS river has been hammering the does, but we haven't seen any 150 plus deer so far. Usually Vicksburg has a monster down, and several more from around the state would have fallen by now. Maybe it will pick up in N...
